Judy Lynn Simoncic started her legal career working in the Oyster Bay Town Attorney’s office before joining the Firm in 1992. She became the first woman named partner by the Firm in 2003. Ms. Simoncic has over 25 years of experience in the areas of land use, zoning, environmental, municipal, and real estate law. She represents national franchises, Fortune 500 companies, real estate developers in the development of residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout Long Island.

She regularly appears before municipal boards of the towns, villages and cities in Long Island on a wide range of zoning applications such as variances, special use permits, changes of zones, site plan approval, and major and minor subdivisions. She has secured zoning approvals for senior housing projects, industrial buildings, retail and office complexes, multiple dwelling projects, planned unit developments, assisted living facilities, equestrian facilities, public storage facilities, fitness clubs, public utility facilities, restaurant franchises, among others.

Her skills in land use and zoning matters have impacted a number of pivotal projects, including the subdivision and redevelopment of the former Northrop Grumman Corporation campus involving 700 acres of land in Bethpage, the subdivision and redevelopment of 65 acres of The Long Island Home/South Oaks Hospital Campus property in Massapequa, the subdivision of 108 acres of the former Winthrop Estate in the Village of Old Westbury, and the subdivision and sale of a number of restaurant and retail uses at Broadway Mall. She also represents clients in a variety of litigation matters including Article 78 proceedings and District Court proceedings relating to zoning matters.

She was listed in Long Island Business News‘ Who’s Who in Women in Professional Services (2010), Who’s Who in Real Estate (2014 & 2015), a Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business (2015 & 2017), honored by Hofstra University with the “Outstanding Women in Law” Award (2017), listed as a New York SuperLawyers (2017 & 2018), panelist, “Land Use Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials” at Hofstra University (2017) and recipient of the Long Island Power Women in Business (2018).

She is on the Firm’s Women’s Initiative executive leadership team. The objective of the Firm’s Women’s Initiative is to recruit, retain and empower women attorneys to advance professionally and personally. Programs include mentoring, teaching business development and negotiating skills, as well as providing a platform to feature the attorneys’ accomplishments both within and outside the Firm.
