Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP (“FDT”), a premier full-service law firm, acclaimed for its impeccable client service and quality representation, proudly announces the following management reorganization effective immediately:

Mr. Forchelli founded the firm in 1976 and has served as Managing Partner since its inception. He grew the firm from a three-lawyer general practice firm to a 65-lawyer multidisciplinary practice; a testament to his skillful leadership. Mr. Forchelli’s extensive practice concentrates on complex land use, zoning and real estate matters. As such, he is the Chairperson of the firm’s Land Use & Zoning practice group and Co-Chairperson of its Real Estate practice group. Mr. Forchelli, a Lattingtown, NY resident, earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his B.S. from Wagner College.

“I have had the pleasure of working with John and Judy for twenty-eight years. As the firm continues to grow in number of attorneys and practice groups, and prepares to move to expanded office space at The OMNI, I am extraordinarily pleased to continue working closely with them,” Forchelli said. “We have responded to growth, greater administrative responsibilities and complex client needs with this change in management roles,” he added.

FDT’s Tax Certiorari practice group is led by Mr. Terrana, a 30+ year real estate industry veteran. He is a Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity Fellowship Program. Mr. Terrana, a Huntington, NY resident, earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.S. from St. John’s University.

“I am honored to serve as Co-Managing Partner with Jeff,” Terrana said. “While our titles have changed, our mission to put our clients first and deliver exceptional service remains steadfast,” he added. “I am incredibly proud of our talented team.”

Ms. Simoncic is a well-respected Land Use & Zoning attorney on Long Island. She joined the firm right after graduating law school and was the first woman to be named partner by the firm. Ms. Simoncic serves on FDT’s Women’s Initiative executive leadership team. A Woodbury, NY resident, she earned her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and her B.S. from Ithaca College.

“I am pleased to play an integral role in managing this firm,” Simoncic said. “Our collaborative approach has been critical in meeting the evolving needs of our clients and navigating this ‘new normal’ together,” she added.
