Casa concentrates her practice in the areas of employment and labor law; sexual harassment and discrimination law, overtime and failure to pay wages law, union/management issues, and litigation.

Employers throughout the state should be prepared for New York’s new pay transparency law. which takes effect on Sept. 17, 2023. Casa noted.
“This new law requires all advertisements for open positions, promotions, or transfer opportunities that are performed, at least in part in New York State, to include the minimum and maximum salary or hourly range of compensation: and a job description,” she said.
“Employers will also have to maintain records of their compliance with this new statute.”
“Employers who have open positions in New York City and Westchester already had to start complying with similar pay transparency requirements in November 2022.” Casa said.
“Employers should start reviewing their internal job posting and record keeping processes now to ensure compliance when the new law takes effect.”
