WHO’s WHO in Women in Professionals Services – Cheryl L. Katz-Erato

Q: What trend/issue has stood out in your industry or company this year?

A: In May 2023, FDT hired me as a Partner to expand the firm’s already well-established and impressive Tax, Trusts and Estates practice group. Although my practice encompasses all facets of trusts and estates matters – i.e., estate and asset protection planning and probate and estate administration, my primary area of practice is trusts and estates litigation.

As a trusts and estates litigation attorney, I will help FDT continue to grow year after year by educating the general public about this area of law while simultaneously building my Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University’s alumni network. To achieve this, I will remain an active member of Hofstra Law’s Alumni Association’s Alumni Engagement Committee, lecture to law students, and participate in the Law School’s Mentorship Program. Giving back to the Hofstra Law community is very important to me, as I would never be where I am professionally without the support and guidance of my alma mater.
