Renewable Energy Seminar Sponsored by Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana, LLP and the Association of Corporate Counsel New York City (ACC-NYC)

Uniondale, NY, March 13, 2017 — The seminar, “Renewable Energy – What Is It? Incentives and Navigating the Landscape,” was jointly sponsored by Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo &Terrana, LLP and the Association of Corporate Counsel New York City. The seminar was held in Uniondale, NY and was attended primarily by in-house corporate attorneys. The impetus for the seminar was the launch of the Forchelli firm’s Renewable Energy practice group, which is dedicated to assisting clients with government and private sector renewable energy incentives, power purchase agreements, tax incentives and other development-oriented benefits to promote a more sustainable environment.

The featured speakers at the seminar were Victor Mezh, President, ClearCell Power, Inc., Montgomery “Monty” Bannerman, Chief Executive Officer, ArcStar Energy LLC, and John Burke, Jr., Esq., General Counsel, D’Addario & Company, Inc. Andrew Curto, Esq., a partner in the Forchelli Litigation Department and Chair of the firm’s Renewable Energy practice group, moderated the seminar.

Among the topics addressed by the speakers were defining renewable energy, financing alternatives, government incentives, and accessing the $5 Billion Clean Energy Fund Pool. Mr. Bannerman spoke about practical applications here on Long Island in implementing solar, wind, and fuel cell renewables. He spoke specifically about combined heat and power generation, financing components, and available incentives. Mr. Mezh described the nature of ClearCell’s renewable products, their application in commercial buildings with details as to the nature of the technology, their installation, and operational advantages. Mr. Burke spoke directly about his personal experiences as in-house counsel exploring various renewable energy sources and the tax credits and incentives available; very practical advice for those in attendance.
