Uniondale, Sept. 17, 2015 – Partner Joseph P. Asselta was honored by the Queens Courier chain of newspapers as one of 2015 Top Men in Business.

The Queens Courier Top Men in Business award honors women who have provided special service to the New York Community over time as well as the ability to make a difference in the lives of the many people through work.
Joseph Asselta represents clients in all segments of the construction industry including owners, developers, lenders, design professionals, general contractors, construction managers, trade contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, equipment rental companies, insurers and sureties (on both public and private projects).  He has prosecuted and defended numerous claims relating to non-payment, extra work, delays, changed and unforeseen conditions, design and construction defects, defaults, terminations, mechanic’s liens, prevailing wages and project labor issues, insurance coverage and performance and payment bonds in both state and federal courts and administrative agencies, arbitration and mediation.  A significant portion of his practice also includes the review, drafting and negotiation of construction contracts and related project documents.

A member of the American Bar Association’s Construction Law Forum, as well as the New York State Bar Association’s Construction and Surety Law Division, Mr. Asselta is active in a number of construction and surety industry associations.  He has served as the Chair of the Bar Association of Nassau County, Construction Law Committee.
