John V. Terrana Featured in LIBN’s WHO’s WHO in Commercial & Residential Real Estate Law

John V. Terrana is Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP’s co-managing partner. Terrana also co-chairs the firm’s Tax Certiorari Practice Group.

During his career, Terrana has obtained millions of dollars in real estate tax refunds and savings for clients, including national, regional and local owners and tenants of commercial and residential property. Properties include office buildings, retail shopping centers, industrial facilities, commercial banks, self-storage facilities, golf courses, apartment complexes, co-ops, condominiums and assisted living/nursing home facilities.

Terrana has published numerous articles, and given lectures on tax certiorari topics to organizations across Long Island. A recognized leader in his field, he has been quoted in newspapers and industry publications.

Terrana has achieved a Martin dale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, which is a testament to the fact that he possesses the highest ethical standards and professional ability. He has also been selected to the New York Metro Super Lawyers lists (Real Estate: Business).

He is a former chairman of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Law Committee. He is also a former co-chair of the Suffolk County Bar Association’s Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Law Committee.

Terrana has received several accolades throughout his career, including the New York Real Estate Journal’s Real Estate Ones to Watch and Long Is – land Executive of the Month; and Long Island Pulse’s Legal Eagle Award, as Long Island’s Most Unbeatable Lawyer in Real Estate Tax Certiorari Law.

From 1989-1993, Terrana served as city attorney for the City of Glen Cove and was counsel to its Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and Community Development Agency. From 1985-1988, he served as a deputy county attorney for Nassau County assigned to its Tax Certiorari & Condemnation Bureau.
