Jeffrey D. Forchelli and Robert B. Moy Interviewed for Newsday article, “Raising the Bar – As Long Island Firms Expand, They Are Grabbing NYC Attorneys”

The article summarizes the trend of Long Island law firms benefitting as New York City struggles to make up jobs lost during the last recession. The article also cited how many local law firms are in ‘growth mode’ while the city has shed 7,800 jobs in the legal sector during the same period. City law firms, feel the pressure to cut costs in the face of dwindling business, have slowed hiring or resorted to layoffs.

“If you provide a comparable service at … a better price, yes, you can lure big city clients, and we have,” said Forchelli, who has hired 14 attorneys in the last year, three of them are from firms in the city.
