Jeffrey D. Forchelli is the founder and managing partner of the Firm. His extensive practice concentrates on complex real estate and land use matters. He has served on the boards of many organizations, both charitable and governmental, and is currently a Trustee of Brooklyn Law School and a Trustee and Treasurer of the Board of Wagner College. Mr. Forchelli is also a Vice Chairman of the Nassau County Republican Committee. Forchelli was selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in American Law,and he is consistently included on the “Who’s Who in Law” listing by Long Island Business News. He was also selected for New York Super Lawyers in 2007, 2009 & 2010.

Partner Donald Jay Schwartz has developed an expertise in all aspects of litigation, involving such diverse areas as real estate, business contracts, corporate, partnership, commercial landlord and tenant, employer and employee rights, insurance law and personal injury. Mr. Schwartz handled the landmark case of Mostow v. State Farm Insurance Company (88 N.Y.2d 321) from the initial arbitration award through his successful argument in New York’s highest court, the Court of Appeals. The case was responsible for changing the law in New York with regard to the interpretation of underinsurance clauses in insurance contracts. Mr. Schwartz also manages all aspects of the Firm’s litigation practice. Mr. Schwartz serves on the Board of Directors of the Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO). He was the recipient of the Court Officer’s Benevolent Association of Nassau County’s Jurisperitus Award. Mr. Schwartz has been listed in Long Island Business News’s Who’s Who in Litigation Law 2007 & 2008 and selected for inclusion in New York Super Lawyers in 2010.

Daniel P. Deegan heads up the firm’s Industrial Development Agency (IDA), Municipal Incentives and Government Relations practices, with particular emphasis on facilitating and implementing responsible real estate development projects. He specializes in Real Estate Development Law, Zoning Law, Municipal Incentives/IDA Law, and Government Relations/Municipal Law. Mr. Deegan is on the Board of the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) and is Vice Chairman of the Long Island Chapter for Nassau County. He has served as President of the Glen Cove Rotary. He is also a member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS) and was honored as the 2010 Associate Member of the Year. He is a frequent lecturer to trade groups and others on the law and practice relating to Economic Development Incentives and Industrial Development Agencies and was published in the New York Real Estate Journal. Mr. Deegan was also selected for inclusion in New York Super Lawyers in 2010.

Robert H. Groman concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and commercial matters including business succession planning, estate planning, probate, trusts, income, gift and estate tax law, and the establishment of charitable organizations. He has represented a broad range of clients, both as General Counsel and for specialized matters, in various business sectors, including the manufactured products, retail, health care, service and food industries. Mr. Groman is the partner-in-charge of the Firm’s Veterinary Medicine Practice Group. Mr. Groman has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the B’nai B’rith Youth Commission, Chair of the Nassau/Suffolk B’nai B’rith Youth Organization and twice served as President of a local B’nai B’rith unit. He has served as President of a Republican Club and has been designated on several occasions as a delegate to the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Convention for the 10th Judicial District. He has also served as President of his civic association and was a member of the Planning Board of the Town of North Hempstead. Mr. Groman is a member of several committees of the New York State Bar Association and Nassau County Bar Association, and served as Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Committee for Attorneys and Accountants. He has lectured for the New York State Bar Association and other organizations on corporate and tax issues and estate planning issues.

Kathleen Deegan Dickson concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate development matters, and, in particular, land use and zoning law. Kathleen has an extensive track record of success with and before municipal boards and agencies on significant projects throughout Long Island. She has a reputation for effectiveness and integrity in the pre-hearing meetings and outreach to municipal planning staffs and civic groups that are now a must in Long Island’s current development climate. She is former counsel to the City of Glen Cove Planning and Zoning Boards, and currently represents many developers, property owners, corporations and private individuals in all types of matters involving real property transactions, zoning and land use. She is a member of the American and the New York State Bar Associations, as well as the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, WEDLI (Women Economic Developers of Long Island), the Nassau County Catholic Lawyer’s Guild and the New York Democratic Lawyers Council. Ms. Deegan Dickson also serves on the Advisory Council of the North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove, and the Board of Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation and the All Saints Regional School. Ms. Deegan Dickson has published articles on land subdivision in the New York Real Estate Journal. She was named one of Long Island’s 50 Most Influential Women by the Long Island Business News. Most recently, she was honored by the John J. Byrne Community Center | UNIONDALE™ at its inaugural “Long Island Outstanding Advocate for Children and Youth Awards Reception Benefit.”

James C. Ricca concentrates his practice in the areas of banking and finance law; foreclosures; creditor’s rights; trusts and estates; corporate law; and real estate litigation. Mr. Ricca counsels individuals, small businesses and institutional lenders and has significant experience representing private and institutional lenders on large commercial mortgage loan transactions. Mr. Ricca began his career as a Bronx Assistant District Attorney and later joined the general law practice of Ricca & Donnelly where his father was a principal. At Ricca & Donnelly, Mr. Ricca carried forward the firm’s concentration in the practice of banking, real estate law and trusts and estates. After ascending to Managing Partner, he merged Ricca & Donnelly with Forchelli, Curto, et al. in 2002. Mr. Ricca is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations and is Chairman of the Queens County Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee. Mr. Ricca has authored articles concerning foreclosures and banking law and has given his time to various community groups including lecturing to first time home buyers. Mr. Ricca has been recognized by the Neighborhood Housing Development Corp. for pro bono services, has served as a volunteer mentor with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization and as a Trustee on the Board of Jamaica Hospital. He was recently honored by the Long Island Business News’ “50 around 50” (2010) awards as a Long Island business leader.

Jeffrey G. Stark has served as a Justice of the New York Supreme Court, sitting in Nassau County, and was nominated by President Clinton to be a Judge of the United States Court of International Trade. Mr. Stark membership’s include the Nassau County Bar Association where he was the Chairman of the Courts Committee, Chairman of the I.A.S. Committee, a Director, and a Chair of the Commercial Court Committee, member of the Second Circuit Task Force on Gender, Racial and Ethnic Fairness in the Courts, the New York State Commercial Courts Task Force, and the Task Force on Permanency Planning for Foster Children. In addition, Mr. Stark has been a frequent lecturer. He is rated “AV Preeminent” by the Martindale-Hubbell, the highest level in professional excellence, and was recognized by L.I. Pulse Magazine as one of the region’s “Top Legal Eagles” (2010, 2011). Mr. Stark has handled a number of pro bono cases, particularly those involving foster children. For his work in this area, he was awarded the Pro Bono Award by the Nassau County Bar Association.

Russell G. Tisman specializes in complex corporate, commercial, defense, employment, labor and Surrogate’s Court litigation. He has tried cases and argued appeals in Federal and State courts and administrative agencies throughout the United States, and in arbitration and other alternate dispute resolution fora. Mr. Tisman also actively counsels management and human resource professionals on employment and labor matters. He represents public companies, privately held businesses, insurers, financial institutions and individuals in all types of business related disputes. Mr. Tisman is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Nassau County Bar Association, where he is active on the employment and labor committee. He has served as President of the Lawyers Club of Huntington and currently is a board member of the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court. He has published articles in various journals including the Journal of the American Corporate Counsel Association, and the National Law Journal, and treatise sections on litigation and employment topics, including chapter updates for BNA’s Employment Discrimination Law treatise, and has lectured on employment and litigation law and alternative dispute resolution before both local and national audiences. He is AV-Rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been selected for a third year by Long Island Business News as one of Long Island’s leading employment and labor lawyers in its “Who’s Who in Law” edition, among other honors he has received.

Gregory S. Lisi is Head of the Firm’s Employment and Labor Department concentrating in the areas of labor and employment law, sexual harassment and discrimination law, overtime and wage law, immigration and naturalization law, corporate law, commercial transaction law and real estate law. He has represented Plaintiffs, Defendants, publicly traded and private companies, the United States Government and New York State government entities. Mr. Lisi is currently on the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Bar Association and is the past Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Committee. He is a former Regional Counsel of the United States Customs Service where he defended the United States Government before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as well as in labor/union matters. He is currently a member of the New York State Bar, Washington, D.C. Bar, New York State Bar Association, National Employment Lawyers Association, New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Committee, Nassau County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Committee and Immigration Committee, and the Anti-Defamation League’s Civil Rights Committee.
