Brian R. Sahn, Partner of the Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana LLP Appointed to the U.S. Green Building Council of L.I. Board of Directors

Uniondale, February, 2012 – Partner Brian R. Sahn has been appointed to the U.S. Green Building Council – Long Island Chapter Board of Directors. The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainable building design and construction. USGBC developed the LEED building rating system, which is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. USGBC’s core purpose is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life. USGBC-LI works to bring these values to the communities of Long Island.

Brian R. Sahn is a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group where he broadly concentrates his practice in all facets of commercial real estate transactions, including representing
clients in purchase and sale agreements; acquisition financing transactions; industrial/economic development projects; and commercial lease agreements in the office, retail and industrial markets. Brian has extensive experience in real estate brokerage matters, including representing clients in connection with real estate portfolio management service agreements, corporate global solutions agreements, lease administration agreements and disputes over commissions and entitlements.

Mr. Sahn represents several large public and private companies concerning their real estate portfolios, involving the management, disposition and acquisition of corporate real estate holdings, frequently involving complex environmental, title and facilities problems. Brian manages the Firm’s “green” and “sustainable” initiatives, and oversaw the Firm’s LEED certification process for its office.

He has published numerous articles on real estate and environmental matters and has lectured on various aspects of real estate law, as well as the impact of environmental issues on real estate transactions. Mr. Sahn has been awarded an “AV” legal ability and ethics rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory – the very highest rating this nationally recognized publication has established.
