Jason M. Penighetti is a Partner at Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP. He serves as the chair of the Condemnation practice group and is a member of the firm’s Tax Certiorari practice group.

Mr. Penighetti practices exclusively in the field of real estate tax assessment and eminent domain litigation throughout New York State for the past 25 years. During his career, he has not only obtained millions of dollars of real estate tax refunds, but has successfully litigated on behalf of property owners affected by a condemnation and obtained substantial judgments against the State.

In his field, Mr. Penighetti has handled all property types, from small-business owners to multi-national conglomerates to mining quarries. In addition, he frequently provides tax estimates for proposed commercial and residential developments to assist with real estate tax planning.

Mr. Penighetti has earned many accolades, including the New York Real Estate Journal’s “One to Watch” in 2022 and has also published articles and books, served on panels, and given lectures on both tax certiorari and condemnation to organizations throughout New York State.

He is admitted to practice before the New York State and New Jersey Bar. Mr. Penighetti is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, along with the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations.
