Jason M. Penighetti is a Partner at Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP, where he chairs the firm’s Condemnation practice group and is a member of the Tax Certiorari practice group.

For over 25 years, Mr. Penighetti has focused exclusively on real estate tax assessment and eminent domain litigation across New York State. He has secured millions of dollars in real estate tax refunds and successfully represented property owners in high-stakes condemnation matters, obtaining substantial judgments against the State.

Mr. Penighetti has represented a broad range of clients and property types, from small business owners to multinational corporations and industrial sites such as mining quarries. He also provides tax estimates for proposed commercial and residential developments, helping clients with proactive real estate tax planning.

A recognized leader in his field, Mr. Penighetti was named a “One to Watch” by the New York Real Estate Journal in 2022. He is a published author and frequent speaker, having written articles and books and presented on tax certiorari and condemnation issues before professional organizations throughout New York State.

He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, as well as the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations.
