Jamie P. Alpern is a partner concentrating her practice in the field of real property tax assessment litigation.

Ms. Alpern was previously with Koeppel Martone & Leistman, L.L.C. from 1986 through October 1, 2022 upon KML joining Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP. With her 38-year history at Koeppel Martone & Leistman Jamie has handled virtually every aspect of real property tax assessment litigation, involving an array of real property types and associated legal issues. Ms. Alpern began her career at KML in 1984 while attending law school. She is a seasoned property tax attorney with a reputation for excellence, who is respected by colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

Jamie is a past Chair and Vice Chair of the Nassau County Bay Association’s Committee on Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Law in which she is a long-standing member. She is also a member of the New York State and Suffolk County Bar Associations, and is an associate member of the Association for a Better Long Island (ABLI).

Jamie currently serves on the Ambassadors Council of the Long Island Crisis Center where she was previously a volunteer and member of the organization’s Board of Directors. In 2016 Long Island Crisis Center honored Jamie in their Life-Saving Circle of Friends, and in 2014 with the Linda Nadel Memorial Award for Community Service. From 2003 to 2013 Jamie volunteered with at-risk teenagers at Pride for Youth and was recognized as their 2011 Volunteer of the Year. From 2014 through 2016 she volunteered at Cove Animal Rescue, and in 2023  at Yorkie911 Rescue. In 2019, Jamie was honored as an Achiever by the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Woman.
