Uniondale, NY, June 1, 2018 — Russell G. Tisman, a partner with the Uniondale, New York law firm of Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP, has joined the Board of Directors of Harboring Hearts.  Founded by family members of heart transplant patients, Harboring Hearts provides financial and emotional support for heart transplant patients, families, and caregivers.  The organization works with partnered hospitals in New York and California to provide financial assistance and other immediate support to patients awaiting or undergoing a heart transplant or critical cardio-thoracic surgical care, in addition to providing other programming.

Mr. Tisman, a heart transplant recipient, is an active volunteer for LiveOnNY and the Long Island Chapter of Transplant Recipients International Organization.  To help address the critical shortage of organs available for transplant, he participates in donor enrollment drives, speaks on organ donation, and volunteers at fundraising/charity events. In 2017, he served as co-chair of the annual fund raising benefit for Harboring Hearts and helped raise over $350,000.

Russell G. Tisman, co-chair of the litigation department, specializes in complex corporate, commercial, defense, employment, labor, and Surrogate’s Court litigation.  He has tried cases and argued appeals in Federal and State courts and administrative agencies throughout the United States, and in arbitration and other dispute resolution forums.  He also counsels management and human resource professionals on employment and labor matters.  He represents public companies, privately held businesses, insurers, financial institutions, and individuals in all types of business-related disputes.
