Founded in 1976 by Jeffrey D. Forchelli, Chairman and Co-Managing Partner, the firm began as a small general practice, dedicated to serving local businesses and individuals. From the outset, FDT was built on the principles of excellence, personalized service, and strong client relationships – values that continue to guide the firm today.
FDT’s growth over the years has been intentional and value-driven, marked by the strategic addition of respected firms and accomplished professionals who shared a client-first philosophy.
The firm has also been shaped by the leadership of long-tenured partners across practice groups, including John V. Terrana, Co-Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the Tax Certiorari practice group, who joined the firm in 1993. Today the firm employs more than 70 attorneys across nearly 20 practice groups, united by a shared commitment to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
Alongside professional growth, FDT has expanded its physical presence across Long Island. From its original Mineola office, the firm is now headquartered at The Omni in Uniondale with offices in Hauppauge and Huntington, reinforcing its commitment to accessibility and client service.
