Uniondale, NY, April 16, 2019 — Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP (the Firm) has been honored by the Long Island Business News with the ‘Commitment to Opportunity’ award at the 2019 Diversity in Business Awards.

In 2011, Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP (FDT) established the Diversity Fellowship Program, which recruits candidates with diverse backgrounds to create an inclusive, just and effective workplace.  Several local law schools are invited to participate in the program.  Partners John V. Terrana and Brian R. Sahn serve as Co-Chairs of the Firm’s Diversity Committee and as mentors to the law clerk.

The FDT Diversity Fellowship Program affords law school students from typically underrepresented populations in the legal profession the opportunity to enhance their education.  This program gives them exposure to a firm that they otherwise may not have an opportunity to experience.  A diversity of ideas, viewpoints and opinions can lead to creative breakthrough, more productive practice group discussions and innovative approaches to satisfying clients’ needs.  A diversified workforce has successfully connected Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP to various community groups and potential clients.
