Associate Stephanie M. Alberts Honored by the Long Island Business News with the Leadership in Law Award

The Leadership in Law Award recognizes experience, dedication, hard work, skill, and excellence and is dedicated to those individuals whose leadership, both in the legal profession and in the community, has had a positive impact on Long Island.

Stephanie M. Alberts (St. John’s University School of Law, 2006, cum laude) is an associate in the Firm’s Tax, Trusts and Estates Department. She concentrates her practice in estate administration, estate planning, estate litigation, guardianships and civil tax matters. Ms. Alberts represents clients in New York State Surrogate’s Court in probate and administration proceedings, probate contests, judicial accountings, and other miscellaneous proceedings. Her practice includes the preparation of probate and administration documents, conducting pre-trial discovery and legal research, drafting estate planning and estate litigation documents and preparing estate tax returns. Ms. Alberts also represents clients in guardianship proceedings in both the Surrogate’s Court and the Supreme Court.

Ms. Alberts has co-authored articles on various trusts and estate issues that have been published in the New York Law Journal, including “Draft Once, Proofread Twice, Take Extreme Care in Drafting Personal Property Bequests” (N.Y.L.J. January 30, 2012) and “Substituted Judgment: Looking Out for an Elderly Person Who Becomes Incapacitated” (N.Y.L.J. January 26, 2009).
