Andrea Tsoukalas, Esq. to be Honored by John J. Byrne Community Center at its Second Annual “Long Island OutstandingAdvocate for Children and Youth Awards Reception”

October 17, 2012 (Uniondale, N.Y.) – Andrea Tsoukalas, Esq., Partner, Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, & Terrana LLP, will be honored by the John J. Byrne Community Center | UNIONDALE™ at its second annual“Long Island Outstanding Advocate for Children and Youth Awards Reception Benefit” on Tuesday, October 17, 2012.

Andrea Tsoukalas recognizes the importance of providing opportunity and support to the youth of Long Island in order to ensure their future success and the future success of the region. Ms. Tsoukalas is a practicing attorney who concentrates her practice in the areas of zoning, land use environmental and municipal law. Ms. Tsoukalas joined the firm of Forchelli, Curto, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana LLP in January of 2005 and became Partner in 2011. She represents a wide variety of clients including national corporate chains, local developers and small business owners in the development of commercial and residential properties.

Ms. Tsoukalas is general counsel to the Long Island Gasoline Retailers Association, a nationally recognized non-profit trade association with over 600 members. She also serves as counsel to the Village of Kensington Board of Trustees, Zoning Board of Appeals and Architectural Review Board.

Ms. Tsoukalas has published articles in GlobeSt.com, the online edition of Real Estate New York and the New York Real Estate Journal. In addition, she was featured numerous times in the New York Real Estate Journal’s annual “Women in Real Estate” edition. Earlier this year, Andrea Tsoukalas was honored by the Long Island Business News with its 40 Under 40 award class of 2012. Most recently, she was listed by the same publication as a ‘Who’s Who in Women in Professional Service.’

In addition to her leadership in the business community, Ms. Tsoukalas is also a leader and active contributor to the Long Island community at large. On behalf of the Firm, she participates in the Firms’ annual Christmas Holiday Toy Drive and contributes to several local children’s groups.
