CIBS Honors Forchelli, Curto, Deegan Partner Daniel P. Deegan, Esq. at Annual Dinner

(Nov. 16, 2010) The Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island honored three members at its annual meeting Nov.10, at Carlyle at the Palace in Plainview. CIBS recognized Jack Britvan for Distinguished Leadership, Daniel P. Deegan as Associate Member of the Year and Gary Friedman as Rising Star.

Mr. Britvan, SIOR, is president of Commercial Realty Services of Long Island, in Woodbury. A founding board member of CIBS, Mr. Britvan is leaving the organization’s executive board after 12 years of service. Mr. Deegan, a partner with the law firm of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana in Uniondale, was recognized for his work in multiple real estate development projects and support for the Nassau County Industrial Development Association; and Mr. Friedman for his achievements at the start of his second career, after retiring from an executive career in Information Technology.

“All three honorees are impressive individuals who have succeeded on a high level throughout their careers, and we took the opportunity last week to recognize those achievements,” said Jeff Schwartzberg, president of CIBS and senior director at Colliers International LI in Lake Success. “I have no doubt that much more excellence is in store for each of these three achievers, whose participation in CIBS is a source of enormous professional pride.”

CIBS is the region’s leading professional association for commerical and industrial brokers, providing informational and networking opportunities for Long Island’s real estate professionals.

Daniel P. Deegan heads up the firm’s Industrial Development Agency (IDA), Municipal Incentives and Government Relations practices, with particular emphasis on facilitating and implementing responsible real estate development projects. He specializes in Real Estate Development Law, Zoning Law, Municipal Incentives/IDA Law, and Government Relations/Municipal Law. Mr. Deegan is on the Board of the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) and is Vice Chairman of the Long Island Chapter for Nassau County. He has served as President of the Glen Cove Rotary.

He is also a member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS) and is a frequent lecturer to trade groups and others on the law and practice relating to Economic Development Incentives and Industrial Development Agencies
