What person, project, transaction or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year?

The New York property tax law firm landscape changed dramatically in 2022 when the decades-long industry leader, Koeppel Martone & Leistman, L.L.C., joined FDT with all of their attorneys, staff and clients. My industry has seen some consolidation over the last several years, but this was a welcomed game-changer. Both firms, now combined into one, can serve clients at an unrivaled level.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2023?

The last few years saw extraordinary growth in both the residential and industrial markets. I believe we will see contraction in both of these markets in 2023. In retail, I believe there is opportunity for those property owners who evolve in an effort to provide a diversified retail and entertainment experience for consumers.
