Jeffrey G. Stark Interviewed by the Long Island Business News

Uniondale, November 3, 2011 — Jeffrey G. Stark was interviewed by the Long Island Business News for the article, “How to be More Appealing,” which explored various appeal strategies.

Jeffrey G. Stark is Head of the Litigation Department and has served as a Justice of the New York Supreme Court, sitting in Nassau County, and was nominated by President Clinton to be a Judge of the United States Court of International Trade.

Mr. Stark was the lead counsel in the case of Sumitomo v. Town of North Hempstead, which resulted in a $31 million damage award for breach of contract. He has handled hundreds of cases, both at trial and on appeal, including dissolutions of business and professional corporations, actions for and against insurance companies, real property actions, zoning matters, personal injury matters, fire cases, public contract cases, physician malpractice actions, environmental cases, deed covenant cases, fraud actions, first amendment actions, litigated estate proceedings, title insurance proceedings, actions involving corporate governance, class actions, matrimonial actions, landlord tenant proceedings, and civil rights actions.

Mr. Stark defeated a lawsuit by former Vice President Spiro T. Agnew seeking a commission on an Argentine business deal. In other cases, he represented a major industrial group in a challenge against the Suffolk County law banning disposable plastic plates and cups, and represented two towns in their challenge to state law mandating the closure of most landfills on Long Island. Mr. Stark was appointed by Judge Arthur Spatt of the Federal District Court to be the Special Master in the case of Revere Armored Car Company. His rulings resolved the issue of how the multi-million dollar losses in that matter were to be allocated between banks and businesses that had entrusted their money to Revere.
