DESCRIPTION:About FDT’s Diversity Fellowship Program \nForchelli Deegan Terrana LLP actively recruits qualified candidates with diverse backgrounds and perspectives to foster an inclusive workplace to best serve our clients. As part of this commitment to diversity and attracting top candidates\, the firm is proud to offer the Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP Diversity Fellowship Program. \nFDT’s Diversity Fellowship Program provides a deserving individual with a paid legal clerk position (full-time or part-time) in our Uniondale\, NY office. Additionally\, the recipient is awarded a $2\,000 academic scholarship to be applied toward his/her law school tuition for the 2023-2024 academic year. \nWe are proud to be dedicated to our mission of diversity and inclusion in the workplace\, creating an environment that fosters mutual respect among all of our employees. \n  \nEligibility \nEligibility requirements include all of the following criteria: \n\nEnrollment with good standing status as a second-year (Juris Doctor) student at an ABA-accredited law school\nA record of academic achievement that demonstrates great promise for a successful career in the legal profession\, including the remainder of law school\nMeaningful contribution to the diversity of his/her law school student body and – upon entering the legal profession – the legal community\nCannot be a recipient of a similar diversity award from any other law firm for the same period of time\nCommitment to FDT (Summer 2023): Spending at least eight consecutive weeks (fulltime) or twelve consecutive weeks (part-time) with the firm\nU.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States\n\n  \nEligible Applicants to Provide: \n\nResume\nPersonal statement of no more than 500 words\n\nDescribe your interest in FDT and the Diversity Fellowship Program. Share how you plan to contribute to the diversity of FDT and the Nassau County legal community\n\n\nWriting sample\nUndergraduate transcript and law school grades (upon availability)\nTwo professional or academic references\n\nPlease provide contact information\, relationship to individual and authorization to contact individuals\n\n\n\n  \nSelection Process:\nA selection panel will evaluate and choose all Diversity Fellows \n\nPanel to consist of FDT’s Chair of the Diversity Committee and members of the Diversity Committee\n\n  \nTiming:\n\nFebruary 1\, 2023: Submission Deadline\nLate February – May 2023: Interviews + Selection process\nJune 2023: Fellowship begins\n\n  \nTerms and Conditions: \n\nFDT’s scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient’s law school and will be applied to the 2023-2024 school year tuition\nFDT reserves the right to terminate the scholarship at any time if the recipient is no longer eligible to remain at his/her law school or has misrepresented information in his/her application\n\n  \nFor more information about this Program and/or to submit application materials\, please contact Julie Allegretti\, Marketing Manager (jallegretti@forchellilaw.com or 516-812-6212).  \n  \nMembers of racial\, ethnic and other minority groups are encouraged to apply.
