Jane Chen is an associate in Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP’s Real Estate and Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups. She concentrates her practice on the representation of homeowners’ associations, condominium associations, and cooperative corporations. Ms. Chen handles underlying mortgage financings and a wide variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions. She also represents real estate developers and sponsors in drafting and filing offering plans with the New York State Office of the Attorney General. Ms. Chen’s corporate experience includes entity formation and governance, entity organization agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations.
Ms. Chen is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Suffolk County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and the Asian American Bar Association of New York (“AABANY”). She liaises between the AABANY and the Firm to coordinate educational programming for attorneys. Ms. Chen is a frequent speaker at various continuing legal education programs focusing on current real estate issues. She has been published in the New York Real Estate Journal, The Suffolk Lawyer, and the Journal of International Business and Law, among other publications.
Ms. Chen is an Executive Board member of the Hofstra University Law School Alumni Association and is the Co-Chair of the Alumni Association’s Diversity Committee. She also serves as a mentor in the Hofstra University School of Law Mentorship Program.
Ms. Chen was featured in the New York Real Estate Journal’s 2020 Women in Real Estate (WIRE) Spotlight, was a recipient of Long Island Business News’ 30 Under 30 Award, and was recognized by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce at the Celebrate Long Island’s Young Professionals event.
Ms. Chen is fluent in three Chinese dialects (Mandarin, Cantonese and Fuzhounese).
