As the managing partner of this firm since its formation,
I have been frequently asked why it has been so successful
over the years. When answering, I think of Justice Oliver
Wendell Holmes' famous quote, "... A page of history
is worth a volume of logic."
When the firm was formed in 1976, it was a three-lawyer,
general practice firm representing local businesses and
individuals. To establish our standing in the legal community
and to better serve our clients, we decided to develop an
expertise in Real Estate,
Land Use and Zoning, and Commercial
Litigation. As the firm began to establish its reputation
in these practice areas, our clients took notice.
From the late 1970's to the end of the 1980's, the firm
changed and grew to further accommodate the needs of our
clients. Attorneys experienced in the firm's particular
practice areas were added to handle complex matters for
the major real estate developers and national corporations
that had become part of the clientele. New specialized practice
areas such as Tax Certiorari and
Environmental Law were
provided to offer a wider range of representation. By the
end of the decade, the firm had more than 20 attorneys,
each concentrating on a particular area of law. Our reputation
was solidly established and the firm's practice extended
throughout the Long Island region.
The firm continued to grow during the 1990's by strengthening
its existing practice areas and adding new ones. By the
year 2000, the firm's more than 30 attorneys included experienced
Corporate, Bankruptcy,
and Trusts and Estates practitioners.
Since then, the firm has continued to grow to over 40 attorneys
and incorporate new practice areas such as Banking
and Elder Law.
This brief history illustrates that the firm's success has
always been based on providing the best possible representation
for our clients through the efforts of talented attorneys
who are trained and experienced in particular practice areas.
Following this legacy of providing outstanding service,
the firm will continue to be successful throughout the new
millennium.
