In each FCSMCC newsletter we publish updates (calendar
calls) on legal cases handled by the firm. In addition to
those mentioned in this issue?s focus on the firm?s bankruptcy
practice area, recent firm activity includes:
Jeffrey D. Forchelli successfully
Represented Adelphi University before the Garden˜
City Village Board, earning approval for a special use˜
permit on September 8, 2005 for a major enhancement˜
of the University campus. Included in the approval are˜
a new Sports Center as well as a Performing Arts˜ Center
and a Child Care facility.
Donald Jay Schwartz successfully
Won a motion for summary judgment on behalf of˜ the
firm?s client, Amici Associates, Inc., causing the˜
dismissal of a lawsuit brought against them in the˜
Queens County Supreme Court alleging violation of an˜
employment agreement. In addition to the matter˜ being
dismissed, our client?s counterclaim for unpaid˜ commissions
was granted as part of the summary˜ judgment motion.˜
Settled a negligence case for $100,000.00 on behalf
of˜ a client injured in an automobile accident.˜
Won a motion for summary judgment for the Village˜
of Lake Success holding that the Village of Lake˜ Success
was entitled to a lien in excess of $250,000.00˜ as
reimbursement for monies paid to an injured˜ employee.
Judy Simoncic Jacoby successfully
Received Nassau County Planning Commission˜ approval
for a subdivision for a 276 senior housing˜ complex
located on West John Street in Hicksville.˜
Secured a variance and site plan approval from the˜
town of Brookhaven for Cablevision?s new head end˜ facility
in Coram.
