Steven G. Leventhal Elected President and Gregory S. Lisi Secretary of the
 Nassau County Bar Association

Mineola, Long Island, NY - Steven G. Leventhal, Esq. of Lattingtown, an attorney and CPA, and the managing member of the Roslyn general practice firm of Leventhal, Mullaney & Blinkoff, LLP, has been elected the 115th President of the Nassau County Bar Association.  Leventhal focuses his law practice on municipal affairs, government and professional ethics, banking and financial services, business relations, trusts and estates and real property. 

As President, Leventhal plans to lead efforts to adapt to the changing social, economic and professional environment and thus preserve the Bar Association's long tradition of service to the community and the legal profession.

An active member of NCBA for 20 years, Leventhal has been in charge of dozens of committees and task forces. In 2006, he received the NCBA Director's Award for his tireless work to advance the goals of the Association and enhance the practice of law in Nassau County. Leventhal is a member of the Executive Committee of the Local and State Government Law Section of the State Bar Association, and a member of the Committee on Standards of Attorney Conduct. He is a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association.

Leventhal is the Associate Village Justice for the Villages of Massapequa Park and Lattingtown, serves as Village Attorney for the Villages of Muttontown and Manorhaven, a hearing officer for the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE), an arbitration chairperson for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and Trial Commissioner for the Nassau County Police Department. He is an Associate Dean and Past President of the Nassau County Magistrates Association, and a director of the Nassau Suffolk Law Services Corporation.

Leventhal earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Professional Accountancy, C.W. Post College, Long Island University. 

Respected Ethics Authority
Leventhal is a recognized expert in the field of government ethics. He served as Chair of the Nassau County Board of Ethics, and is counsel to the Boards of Ethics of the Counties of Nassau and Westchester, the Towns of Oyster Bay, Huntington and Southampton, and the Village of Sag Harbor. Leventhal has lectured extensively on the subject of government ethics throughout the state. He is the author of numerous articles on the subject of government ethics, and is co-author and editor of "Municipal Ethics in New York: A Primer for Attorneys and Public Officials." Leventhal is co-chair of the Ethics Committee of the New York State Bar Association Local and State Government Law Section, and served as a member of the State Bar Association Task Force on Local Government Ethics.
