D. Forchelli is interviewed in the Long Island Business
News about the Firm’s (2008) Merger with Crowe-Deegan.
The article provides commentary on the expected decline
of law firm mergers in the United States in 2010. The
Forchelli, Curto, Schwartz, Mineo, Carlino & Cohn merger
with Crowe-Deegan two years ago was cited as Long Island’s
last major legal marriage.
“You need to run your law office like a business,” said Forchelli.
The answer there is communication... In the months leading up to the Forchelli-Crowe
Deegan merger, the two firms hammered out an integration deal that gave Dan
Deegan and Kathleen Deegan Dickson seats on several of the firm’s committees,
including public outreach and marketing, and alternating spots on the compensation
panel. “We’re very hands on, very interactive partner to partner,” Forchelli
concluded.
Mr. Forchelli founded the law firm of Forchelli, Curto,
Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, LLP in 1976
and has served as its Managing Partner ever since. His
extensive personal practice concentrates on complex real
estate and land use matters, including litigation and tax
certiorari for major real estate developers and national
corporations. He has served as Counsel to the New York
State Assembly, and served on the Legal Advisory Board
and on the Board of Directors of Security Title and Guaranty
Company. Mr. Forchelli was selected for inclusion in Who's
Who in American Law (8th Edition) was selected by his peers
for inclusion in The New York Times Magazine’s SuperLawyers
