Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana LLP Enhances Capabilities of Tax Certiorari Department: Assessor Paul N. Petruzzelli Joins the Firm

Uniondale, August 2009 — Paul N. Petruzzelli, resident of the Village of Babylon, has joined the Tax Certiorari department of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana LLP (the Firm). Mr. Petruzzelli, a certified New York State Assessor with over thirty -two years’ experience, will greatly strengthen the capabilities of the practice. The Tax Certiorari department (one of the largest on Long Island) continues to enhance the services offered and stay ahead of the curve.

“Having an assessor with appraisal experience on staff strengthens our firm’s ability to be effective for our clients,” said John V. Terrana, partner in charge of the Firm’s Tax Certiorari department. “We have always had experienced Tax Certiorari attorneys and paralegals in our department. Paul is a great addition to our practice.”

The Tax Certiorari practice group at The Firm concentrates in handling tax certiorari proceedings to challenge real estate tax assessments and reduce real estate taxes. Our team approach involves checking every aspect of a property’s taxation to ensure that our clients obtain the largest possible tax refund and reduction in future taxes. This concentration allows the Firm to provide a very specialized service that is usually only available in a small firm, with the resources and expertise of a large firm. Our tax certiorari practice is supported by a custom-designed computer software system that allows us to handle each case effectively and expeditiously. In addition, our extensive database includes detailed property record information on every parcel of real property in Nassau and Suffolk Counties

Now, with the addition of Paul Petruzzelli, who is extremely knowledgeable on how municipalities work and their assessment practices, the Firm is again taking another step to make our Tax Certiorari department as effective for our clients as possible.

Founded in 1976, Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn, & Terrana LLP is one of Long Island's most acclaimed and distinguished law firms. With offices in Uniondale and Melville, NY, the firm is conveniently located for clients in Nassau and Suffolk.
