Networking Magazine to Honor Attorney
Anthony V. Curto with David Award
(Mineola, NY…November 14, 2007) Prominent Long Island
attorney, Anthony “Tony” Curto, a resident of
Northport, NY, and partner-in-charge of the Forchelli, Curto,
Schwartz, Mineo, Carlino & Cohn (The Firm) Corporate
Department, will be honored by Networking Magazine during
its 7th annual David Awards breakfast ceremony taking place
at the Crest Hollow Country Club on January 17, 2008. The
event will celebrate eight of Long Island’s “Best
Men” by recognizing corporate and other leaders who
are dedicated to their communities and excel in the world
of business or academics.
“I am honored to receive Networking Magazine’s
David Award. I feel privileged to have been in a position
to assist the organizations that I have touched over the
years,” Mr. Curto explained. “My professional
accomplishments, coupled with my charitable work and community
service, have made my career complete.”
With a career that spans over 40 years, Tony applies his
legal expertise to represent clients in various matters,
from early stage and venture capital financing to mergers,
acquisitions and partnering arrangements. His client list
features an impressive roster of noteworthy corporations,
including Greenstone/Fontana, Dairy Barn and Ingenious Designs,
among others. He has also represented an assortment of celebrities
and personalities, including Liza Minnelli, Harry Chapin,
Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, guitarist Esteban, Father Tom
Hartman, Joy Mangano, Mike “The Mad Dog” Francesa
and Newsday’s Ed Lowe.
For over 10 years, Tony has served as a regular guest on
“Father Tom and Friends” – broadcast weekly
on Telecare, the nonprofit television facility for the Diocese
of Rockville Center. He was honored by Telecare in 1998
for exceptional service and joined the organization’s
Board of Directors in 2002. He remains on the Board and
continues to serve as Counsel.
He is a past President of the Huntington Arts Council, serving
as Counsel to the organization for over 25 years, where
he provides invaluable insight and formidable leadership.
He has also served as Board Member and Vice-President of
the New York State Alliance for the Arts Council. His board
service expands to include previous involvement with the
Suffolk County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Commission and
the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. He worked tirelessly
on behalf of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Center for Non-Violent
Social Change in Atlanta, GA, and was awarded the esteemed
Martin Luther King “Living the Dream” Service
Award in 1987. He was also honored with a Congressional
Achievement Award in 1984.
Tony was instrumental in the creation of the Bernard M.
Baruch Foundation, which promotes environmental research
and education. He also served as Board member and Counsel
to the Charles P. Ferro Foundation, which is dedicated to
health-related causes and children’s services. Tony
has devoted over 20 years to the Harry Chapin Foundation
as Board member and Counsel, helping to advance the organization’s
mission to support human rights.
