"The downside of the bankrupcty bill" by Jeremy Harrell, 4/28/06

Mineola, April 12, 2006 — Partner Gary M. Kushner is featured in the latest issue of the Long Island Business News. In the article, Mr. Kushner offers expert commentary regarding the downsides of the new bankruptcy law that took effect six months ago.

"Most debtors' lawyers anticipated that the new law would be detrimental to debtors," noted Mr. Kushner. "Chapter 11 business filings have been ramping down for the last several years, regardless of the new rules," Mr. Kushner further explained.

A graduate of California Western School of Law, Gary M. Kushner concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors rights, insolvency and related litigation. Mr. Kushner began his career as a bankruptcy lawyer in New York City. He then moved to Long Island as a partner at Sachs, Kamhi & Kushner, P.C. Mr. Kushner merged his practice with the firm in January, 2004 and he continues to represent various constituents in high-profile chapter 11 cases.
